Mass. BUIC Meeting

On January 29, 2007 the 2^nd Quarterly New England Christian Biker Ministers’ Conference took place at the First Church in Leominster, Massachusetts. Although the meeting place was not at an ideal location as it is a Unitarian church, it did supply the needs for those who are not able to walk who were in attendance. The hall was prayed over prior to our meeting there, that those who do attend that place of worship find the Lord through Christ Jesus. Our meeting there was in no way a declaration of support for this organization or their beliefs.

The Seed of Abraham JC/MC hosted the event. Participating were members from the Seed of Abraham JC/MC, Covenant MM, Bikers For Christ, Loyal Sons MC, Christian Motorcyclists Association, Cornerstone Ministries, and Iron Indians Motorcycle Association.

Worship was led by Dan D’Amato and Wayne Hanson, both from the Christian Motorcyclists Association. The worship was awesome!!!!

Paul, from the Cornerstone Ministries in the Keene, NH area talked about The Tent’s (30 year old Laconia Bike Week Ministry) and how it has been turned over (it belongs to all of us now not just Cornerstone) to the motorcycle ministries at large. Cornerstone Ministry can not do it alone anymore, and they need our help This was well received by the group and it was suggested that a Board of Directors be created from amongst the motorcycle ministries in attendance that are willing to help out

Raldo, President of the Iron Indians Motorcycle Association (a Christian motorcycle ministry supporting secular organization), spent a significant amount of time answering the “why” of charging for the upcoming benefit and bike blessing at Plainridge Racecourse on April 29^th, 2007. Raldo explained that the bike blessing is not what is being charged for, but the many expenses incurred in renting the Racecourse for the day (several thousand dollars), police presence ($50.00/hour per officer, must be 1 officer per every 500 bikers in the Racecourse area), the inability to recoup the expenses in any way as the Racecourse must sell ALL the food and beverages, and more. This explanation was well received by all. All are ready and planning to help out with everything from blessing, to parking, to any other help needed.

This bike blessing looks to become the largest in the New England Area as time progresses. 2 of the 3 bands playing at the Racecourse are Christian bands!!! We are all encouraged by seeing the flyer for the event, which has 5 local motorcycle ministries’ patches displayed together, which has never happened before. Praise God!

We had a great spaghetti dinner and a time of prayer together before going our own ways to spread the Good News that IS Christ Jesus!

The next New England Motorcycle Ministries’ Unity Conference will be held on May 12, 2007, from noon to 4:00 pm at the New Testament Baptist Church, Rt. 140 in Norton, MA.

This was an open mike meeting, why? Because this meeting isn't a Dick from the Seed thing, it isn't a Steve from BFC thing. This meeting was a God Thing! It's about time that the Body of Christ works together, Amen?
