Hide Your E-Mail Address
from Spammers

Use the form below to create an encoded e-mail address to use on your website. The encoded e-mail address can be seen as an regular e-mail address, and your visitors can e-mail you regularly. So why would you want to encode it? Spammers use spiders to harvest e-mail addresses from the internet and they search web pages looking for regular addresses to sell your address to anyone and everyone. Do you enjoy opening your mail and finding tons of ads for things your not interested in? Well I don't and after much searching I found this simple form that works.

On your website you probably have a link like this, e-mail me at yourname@domain.com or you might have it a little differently depending on your knowledge of web design. But no matter what, in the html the information is clearly visible to the spam bots and it looks like this below.
<a href="mailto:yourname@domain.com">yourname@domain.com</a> Notice the highlighted address, it is not hidden to the spam bots. Now if you hide your address by changing what your visitors see it doesn't change at all.

Example with same address E-Mail Us here your address is not visible, but it is still not hidden and nothing is really changed is it? Because your address is clearly shown in the html, see below.

So I am going to use the form below to encode it

E-Mail Us here now hold your mouse pointer over the address on this line and look at your status bar, you can read the address fine, right? Now go back up to the Example paragraph above and do the same thing, both addresses appear in the status bar fine or if you click on them your e-mail program will open with the correct address appearing in the sent to line, and it works for both addresses. Now look below and see what the spam bots see.

Once the spam bots come to that line, they will not see a e-mail address and will keep looking someplace else and won't list your address
