Testimony of the Lost Man

DEAR, BROTHERS AND SISTERS: 
I LOVE TO SHARE THE WORD OF GOD WITH YOU AND I WOULD ALSO BE MORE THAN GLAD TO SHARE MY TESTIMONY WITH YOU ALL!
MY NAME IS JAMES: 

At the age of four years old my Dad left us with our mother. She had at this time a Boy and Two Girls You know, God wants a family to stay together; that there be a father and a mother to rise the kids up This is also the age we need to start teaching our kids more about God, than about the worldly things of Life They really need to know how to use the TOOLS of LIFE that we all have here on earth Most of us have kids and know just how hard it is to control them TODAY! 

The same obedience that we want from our kids is the same obedience that God wants from us The word obedience means; To obey, to do as asked, to yield to someone’s commands or wishes; Children, Obey your parents in the Lord for this is right; (Ephesians 6:1) 
You see the three main words in this verse; IN THE LORD! How can we expect our kids to obey us if we don’t obey God!!!
 
At the age of nine my mother had been remarried and divorced, leaving her with another child. Now there are three girls and I. I being the oldest of the group had to make sure that the girls got off to school and to the babysitter. This is a big job for a nine-year-old boy HUH!!! 

Well I really thought I was a big man So I started going out at night. I would meet with a few other boys from down the road and then we would drink beer or smoke pot, and sometimes both. This is where the bad things started to happen in my life.

Yes, this is where the disobedience came into my LIFE I would do whatever I was told NOT to do! Because I was the man of the House, from my understanding the man of the house did what he wanted to do. And that is just what I did! Anyway, that is the way I remember it happening; Disobedience means: To fail to obey or refuse to obey.

We really need to find a way to get the obedience back into our HOMES! How? By using the word of God right in our homes! By not saying the words but by putting them into action; Honor your Father and your Mother, Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Which is the first commandment with a promise. That it may go well with you and that you many enjoy long life on this earth Fathers, do not exasperate your children, instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the LORD.
 
You see how God tells us to bring up our children! But all we have to do is look around us today how many boys or girls are brought into this world today with no father or mother to look after him or her? How can we get our kids back today? Well hopefully after you read this testimony you well be able to find just that!!! 

At the age of twelve I had a job for the city and was still in school. When I went I had an apartment with two other boys. One was seventeen and his brother was fourteen and all three of us had to make our on ends meet. We all had a job of some kind, we was doing ok for a group of kids We lived like this together for two years. From the age of twelve to the day I came to jail, I was a drug user and also a dealer. It all started out by me becoming so mean that my mother couldn’t do anything with me. She had got remarried again and the stepfather and me just didn’t see eye to eye on things. So they moved off to a new town and I stayed where I was at with a few friends. 

The drugs all started out by me just trying it one time! We all say that don’t we. I’m just going to do it one time. This reminds me of the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden, they were just going to try it one time and look what happen! I was going to only use it one time. Mostly just to get the other guys to like me. Back then you did all the things you were dared to do? This I how you made yourself the big guy of the block. Now days kids use a gun in ride-by-shooting that innocent people get killed in each day, this is not the way things are done or should I say, should be done.

With the drugs, the kids get hooked on them so fast today because they’re so easy to get. Our people, Fathers and Mothers of today just don’t want to get involved in other family problems. They have enough of their own problems to take care of, which is true!!! But I still remember when there was a time when if one of the kids from the neighborhood did something wrong and was seen by one of the other kids parents, they would call and let your Father or Mother know before you ever get home. Now how much can you make your kids mind if you don’t know when they’re doing anything wrong? We need to look after each other more often. Yes, the kids need to also look after each other, because you never know when someone is going to try to hurt you.
 
When you use drugs or alcohol you don’t just stop at one. Once you get started it lies to you and tells you that you need just one more, each time you get through with the last one. Before you know it your hooked on it A lot of times people will say that their not hooked on drugs or alcohol, but the whole time your talking to them they are using whatever it is that their not hooked on! They just don’t want to take that step. They really need someone to help them. Also to be by them when they get that feeling for that next drink or smoke. They need a good Christian Brother or sister to help them. When I got started on the drugs and alcohol, I didn’t have any one to turn too. So it got to where, when I got up in the morning, I just had to have a drink or a smoke. Most of the time it was both. To me a smoke was a joint. This is the way I was at the age of twelve years old to the day I came into Jail. After a few years of drugs and alcohol, it got to where I needed it.

For me growing up without a Father put me in a place where I needed a role model for someone to look up to. In the area that I lived in it was hard for a boy or girl to find that person. We so often pick the wrong kind of role model. Today our kids are having the same kind of problems. They are using drugs dealers and bank robbers as role models. They have no respect for the hard workingmen and women of today. Why? Because we are working so hard that we forget to teach our kids the right respect of Gods words!!! We are so hard at work that we forget how we should even live our own lives Then when something goes wrong at home we want to put it off on the kids or someone else. This is the Life of Today.
 
The role model that I picked was a guy that worked in the box factory. His name was Tommy. He was a hard working guy but we all know that back in the 60's and the 70's people just didn’t make that much money working in a box factory or at the cotton mill. This guy just seem to have all the money and things you could want in life. I thought to myself, how does he do it? Yes, this was the start of my drug dealing. It started out that I would make a few bucks and be able to party with the guys, without spending any money, I thought, but after a while, I got to where I was using more than I was selling. I started having to pay for the extra drugs that I would use. This got old quick The only other way I could see being able to party with all my friends and still make money to live on was to start selling my own drugs. This way I had no extra guy to pay before I got paid. This only made it easier to use more drugs. You see right here I should have changed my life back to God and not to Satan I wish that I would have know some of Gods words like; That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness; (Ephesians 4:22-24) These kinds of words are the kind of words that we need to know and be able to understand in our youth days as well as our older days. 

At the age of fourteen the welfare lady was called on us. At this time I was the only one who was under age. Now after being on my own for all this time, this lady wants to send me to my father! Well, I asked which one? She said my real father! I thought to myself, do I have a real father? Anyway, I didn’t have much I could say in the matter. 
What I would like to say here is that a Child that hasn’t know or seen his/hers father or mother for a long period of time, well need some time to get use to the new life. The child could still have a lot of resentment toward the father or mother! So we need to be very careful of the things we say and do around them because they might just be checking us out to see if we want to really be that true father or mother. For God only knows how much we as parents and friends need to have of Gods words, and learn from them, as well as teach them to our kids In God words it says: Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter towards them! (Colossians 3:19) 
You know that your child is new in the home, so he/she is watching to see how you act to others of the household! 
Children, obey your parents in all thing, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. (Colossians 3:20) You see kids, we need to also go by the rules of the home that we live in, in order to give it a chance to grow on us; Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. (Colossians 3:21) 

How can we teach our kids good ways if we don’t know them ourselves? We need to make sure that in all things we say, around the house, or at work that it is pleasing to God. We could be that child’s role model or a friend to the child. We need to get closer to our kids these days more then ever; the way to do that is to become a friend with them! In the word of God it tells us to be fathers to our children ;And you Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4) 

You see how Gods words help us to teach our kids as well as teaching us, at the same time! We need to also do the things we wish for our children to do. 

Here I go off to meet my father, My real Father, after 10 years of never hearing from him. He never helped us at all! My dad, an army man, retired after 20 years! He owns his own business. A Night Club or a Bar, what ever you would like to call it. He’s an alcoholic and has a new wife and three kids of his own. I thought to myself here I go again, it was good for the first year. Then everything came out one night at the bar. Me, 15 years old in the bar with my father and him drinking! He started talking about my mother and that’s when we got off on the wrong foot! There’s one thing you don’t do, and that was talk down my mother or any of my sisters! No sir, I didn’t go for that and I told him so! It was only a few days after this that a friend of mind came to the schoolhouse and got me. He said, Jimmy, your dad and mother are having a real bad fight. I didn’t know my stepmother to good but, I did remember to this day, when the Bar was right next to the house. The bar is just the right place for kids to be raised, right? As I got out of the car at the front of the bar, I could see that they were fighting, so I just started for the front door. My dad met me at the door of the bar, he wanted to know why I wasn’t in school! I told him, to get out of my way and to leave Mom alone. At this time he tried to grab me and I hit him! He was drunk, so I got away with it. He would have kicked my butt. When I hit him, he just fell up against the wall and sat down! I guess he was shocked that I hit him. I know I sure was. It was only a few weeks after this that my stepmother and all the kids left? A few weeks after leaving him she went back with the kids. I didn’t. You see all the anger that was in me after all these years, I really wanted to get it out at any cost. I do believe if I would have had a gun at this time, I would have probably have used it. Not really understanding why, I did it. 

Gods Words Tells Us; Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:26-32) If we would put these words into our every day life, and also teach them to our kids in the same way. I can see God showing us a big change in today’s world! This change is not just for us to repay evil for evil, or just to get back at someone for doing something to you. But its like the word of God Says. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you. 

Its something how God puts people together isn’t it! Finding these things out put a bond in us that no one was going to be able to break. WE had both been through a rough life. We fail in love with each other and all you had to do was look at us and you could tell it. Well one day it all came out into the open that we either, get married or we had to quit seeing each other. 

Glenda’s Aunt had raised her for the last 12 years. Her Aunt at this time was dating my dad, when they started having problems so did we. So one day her Aunt told me that if we really loved each other that we should get married. I really did love her but I just didn’t know about this marriage thing!!! So I asked her what she thought about it. Glenda said, okay, lets do it. Well here I go again with another style of Life. This is when the age came out into the open. Glenda's Aunt couldn't sign the papers for us to get married. So we went to Glenda's father that had been in jail for a while but was out now. It was good that we had to do this any way because it gave me a chance to meet her father and get to know him. Well, when he heard what we wanted to do, he asked her to take a walk with him. On this walk he had a chance to find out if she really loved me or not. After they returned from their walk he asked me to also take a walk with him. I told him that, God wants us to be together and he also wants us to do things the right way to start with. It means so much to a woman to get married in a Church because they are hoping that it will be a one-time thing, also us men should try for the same thing in a marriage. 

Well, after we had lived together for about three years we had a baby boy!!! At this time I was only 22 years old and she was just 17 years old. So you can see we was really young when we first got married and we are still very young, but that is the way of life in the world today, right. Most of us do start our adult life early in this time of life. Anyway, this it what I had always wanted from the start of my marriage, a loving wife and baby boy!!! We named the boy after our fathers. His name was James William Burkett, the James was after me, the William was after her father, also the Burkett was after my father. So all of us men are part of his name. The family tree goes on! 
I was at Fort Bragg North Carolina, when she had the child and it really hurt me not to be there by her side when our child was born. I would like to take this time to encourage all of you who are reading this, don't take time for granted, it is very important that you be by your wife's side at this time more than anytime. A child is the uttermost important thing in your life, and to be there when it is born should also be as important. I hope, as you read this story you will be able to see just that. 

Eleven months went by real fast and my boy was just about to have his first birthday. At this time I was trying my best to make a home for us all. It is hard being in the Army and also trying to work as much as I could to make a few bucks. I thought I was doing the right thing by doing what ever it took to make ends meet. I really lost a lot of my free time on trying to make something for us as a family. But that is okay because I am only 22 years old and I have got a lot of time with my boy and my wife later. You see this is what we all think, we will put off today and do it tomorrow! What we forget is that tomorrow just might not come. 

This is the way a lot of us all look at life and time. There is plenty of it right! Well, let me tell you something, in this eleven months, I did try to make a home for my family, but I had no education nor a good trade that would give me the skills I needed to land a job around the house so I could spend more time with my family. So what did I do? I would go out and make any kind of deal I could. Drugs were one of the trades I had learned on the streets. I used this trade often when ever I needed to make extra money. I really thought it was all right, because this was the way, and also the environment I was brought up in, Drugs and Alcohol.

In the first eleven months of my child's life, I got to see him only four times. One day while I was on duty at Fort Bragg North Carolina, an officer came up to me and said, Son you need to go home. I don't know which one got me the most: the officer calling me son, or the Army sending me home from a two week on duty service!!! While I was thinking it over, it came to me that maybe my dad had an accident!! So, I just got my things together and started home. The whole time I was wondering what could have happened. I never thought about stopping and calling to see what it was. 

I was five miles from my house when I turned off the interstate. About 30 foot from the interstate turn off was a four-way stop. At this point my radio went off the air, the radio broadcaster said, We are sorry to interrupt this program! There has been an accident in the community; a young child has just drowned!!! The child was only eleven months old. The child was the son of the Family of Mr. And Mrs. Burkett of Warrenville, South Carolina. The child's name was James William Burkett!!!!

You see time doesn't last forever!!!! At this minute I just totally forgot everything, I was coming to a four-way stop sign, remember; I just went right through it. If anything would have been coming, Well I guess only God would really know what would have happened.

My boy lacked only about four days and he would have turned one year old. I only seen him a total of five times in his hole life, and I really didn't care for seeing him on the fifth time!!! I went, but it was hard and has been ever since then. You know, people say that you got to let things go and start over! Well, let me tell you, its easier said than done. All I can remember about that day was the preacher saying, The child was only a child and he would go to HEAVEN!!! Also, that God would take care of him! I thought to myself. Well, why didn't he take care of him to start with? I thought several times to myself, why did God take my son away from me?

At this time a new life started for me! A life of alcohol and drugs! Yes, you may say, that I was doing drugs before then but never like this. This was a whole different way of doing drugs. Ever day and ever night I was on something. I started out just drinking heavy and smoking a lot of pot! Then I got where I wouldn't want to go to sleep so I started taking up-johns (speed). I went from there to downers like; Blue valiums (5 and 10m), and Quaaludes (714 lemons), also plastered (reds and greens). I then took then next step into the drug life. The big time, LSD, Cocaine and Heroin! 

Yes, we don't want to forget my beautiful wife who went home to mommy! It was probably the best thing for her. At least she didn't have to go through all this drug activity! 

Now I am 23 years old and I don't care about anything at all. What a way to start a young mans life, huh!!! I have got the world against me and I am going at it head first. Drugs, sex, and rock and roll. This is my new life; well this went on for about three years before I started to see the light. I said to myself one day, this isn't getting me any where.

So, after being a bouncer at a nightclub for a few years, I met a young girl about 23 or 24 years old. I was 26 at this time. She had a little boy three months old and a little girl two years old. Now your talking about taking big steps in life, this was one. Here I go again! A change of life style all over again. 

I went from being a drug dealer to a family man with two kids in the matter of just a few weeks. The small boy was just like my new son. God has given me another chance. I jumped right into it. It was hard work for the both of us to raise two kids. We, both still young kids ourselves. One thing for sure family and drugs or alcohol don't go with each other. As far as that goes drugs and alcohol don't go along with life at all!!! Its just a part of life that gets passed down to us unusually by family members or a real close friend that you look up to. Its a bad cycle of life that ha to be broken! What we do or what our friends do around our kids means a lot in their lives. They see us and as they grow up, and they try to be like us by doing the same things. Just how many times have you said, Dad or Mom did it! Why can't I do it!? You see why we need to be very careful of what we say or do in our life at all times. 

These kids grew up not knowing their real father, and as far as I know, he had never even tried to help us out at all. So, to me these kids are as good as my own kids. The boy and the girl both call me daddy. Raising the boy and the girl was a very special part of my life. They gave me back that special part of my life that I had lost when my son died. In the time of raising the kids we decided to be careful with the things we did for fun, like drugs and alcohol!!! But as you do these drugs, or as you drink the alcohol, you seem to forget where you are, before you know it your setting in front of your TV with a beer or even a joint; with your kids watching a movie. Just how many people that drink, do you think say to their kids, Baby go get Daddy a beer out of the refrigerator. At least 98% of us, who has kids at home will ask their kids to do just that!!!! (If they drink) 

You know, we also think that its all right to do this, but its not okay at all. It is a cycle we need to stop!!! It is one thing for us to do this in front of them, but it is all together another thing for us to ask them to participate. I hope to God that we as parent can learn to be more careful with the welfare of our kids lives. They need us as much as we need them. Our children are our future. 

Well we gave it a hard try with our kids to raise them up right. We just couldn't decide what town to raise them up in. From town to town we tried to make things better for them, as well as, for us. I think we lived in about 20 different towns within four years time. That means these children moved five different times a year. Now how can kids learn anything from school if they're in and out of school like this? There are so many of us that do this to our kids not thinking what it is really doing to them. We want a better job so, we move to another town. We want to live in a better home, so we move to another town. This could go on and on if we just want to make a list of reasons to move from place to place. But what we really need to do is stop and take a look at our family and see what we are doing to them. I love my family and I know you do also. I just hope that one day these kids will come to know God and with the love of Him in them, they will forgive me and there mother. 

As time went by their mother and me started having problems of our own. I really think it was the drugs and alcohol that caused these problems. One day we had a big fight over drugs and alcohol. She got mad and left me. I wanted to keep the kids myself because I loved them and to this very day I still do. But their mother also loved them and took them. She moved off to another town and I stayed right where I was. I was in a town that I never lived in before but after moving all the time in the last few years what difference did it make. At this time we had been living in this same area for over a year or so. I cannot say which one of us had the worst problem or habit! But one thing for sure the kids did not need to be caught in between us. 

This is where my life took another turn in the wrong direction. I had once again failed God!!! God gave me another chance with a family and I had blown it. Can I do anything right? So here I go again off the end. Back to drinking and doing drugs real bad. Wait a minute, when did I ever stop drinking and doing drugs? I guess if I have never stopped when I had a reason too, there was no use in doing it now. A few months went by and I was feeling real bad. All I did every day was drink and do drugs. I had not heard anything from my girl or from the kids. Things are not looking to good for me at this time. 

One day I took me a ride on my bike, I really loved riding my Harley (Harley Davidson). I stopped off at a bar to have a few drinks. I was just sitting there having a drink when out of nowhere, a guy ask me what was I looking at? I told him it sure was not him. Then he wanted to get smart with me. There was this other guy there that just told him to shut up. And he did just that the other guy there came over to my seat and asks me what was my name? I do believe he already know who I was by a guy that we both knew. So I went ahead and told him anyway. This guy was the big boss of the biker gang called The Wind Tramps. The Bike club is out of the southern end of Illinois. This club was a well know club in the area I was living in. People would say, don't go over there unless you wanted trouble. I started riding with them and hanging around their clubhouse. 

I guess I was just out to find something to do with my time. It was then that I started another style of life. This was the life style of a biker, 25-hour party, fun, drugs, alcohol and women. What a Life huh!!! I really thought I was in heaven. If I only knew where I was heading. One thing leads to another and before I knew it I was part of the club. I was proud of being a part of the brother hood, and today I am still proud of it!!! You know it was like another family. We all helped each other out when someone needed it. Theres one thing about a bikers life style and his brothers, it is a part of life style that most of the world has forgotten. That is the togetherness, loving one another and looking after each other. I know we lived in sin! But then who does not? We all live in sin, the thing is that someone has got to tell even the bikers about Christ! We all need someone to tell us about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

If we do not learn to share the word of God, then how is anyone going to ever know Him? This is why they have clubs like; The Tribe of Judah, Bikers for Christ along with many others who are now riding their bikes for the Lord. God does use people in different ways. I really see these men being used by the Lord in so many ways. He (Jesus) tells us to go out in the Land and Preach the gospel of the Lord. We all need to be taught the word of God. Then we also need to go out and teach it to others. That way they can learn what we have learned about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!! When they learn the word of God they can then go out and teach it to others also. This is one way that we can break the cycle of sin that we have just took for granted that it was the way of life. The Word of God tells us: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23) 

I have been in the club for a few years, when one day on the way over to the club house, (it is only about a mile from my own house) I thought to myself what is going to happen to me if I ever get caught? Well I guess it's like an old saying, If you do the crime, you have to do the time! Well, that is just what happens to me. 

I did the crime and now I am doing the time. At the age of 30 years old I got caught in what they call Conspiracy. A new law against drugs. It is a crime that is done with more than one person. In this charge I ended up with 120 months (10 years). The bad thing was not the 120 months; it was the fact that the charge was with the feds meaning, Federal Government.

In the FEDS the new law say that you will do 85% of your time. So this meant that I was going to have to do 85% of 120 months. Which is like 100 months (8 years and 4 months). Boy did I really mess up. If only I would have known about this, just maybe it would have made a difference! That is why I am writing you today, to tell you there is something you can do different. 

It took me two years after I was in prison to find out what I could have done different in my life. One day out in the yard of the prison a guy (a black guy) cam up to me and gave me a card. (My dad had just died and I was feeling real down). On this card it had about 50 or 60 other names on it. The guy asks me, did I know that God loves me? I thought to myself, Is this the same God that took my child? Yes, He is the same God!!! But he did not take my child from me. He saved him from all this sin in the world today. 

God loves each and every one of us. He tells us in his words, For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal Life! (John 3:16) 

Yes, this is something we all need to know and we also need to know that if we confess our sins that He (God) will forgive us. He also tells us this in His words, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.(1 John 1:9) 

For the last three years I have been trying to do what the Lord would want me to do. He tells us to study and show ourselves approved, to preach the gospel of peace in His own words He tells us, For we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do Good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) 

In being the person that God wants us to be, we have to give up the old things and start a new life. Like He tells us in His word, You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness 

Now as a Warrior for God, I go through each and every day just to be able to minister to someone the words of God. You know, ministry is not just preaching! Ministry is prayer! We have an example in Gods words, If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.(2 Chronicles 7:14) 
This is we need to be, IN prayer together in unity as one. Until this comes we will be in sin because God will not come just for part of His people, He wants ALL of His people to be ready for His coming!!! 

In getting ready for the coming of the Lord. There are a few things we need to know, one of them is the control of our Lives. We need to know how to control it, also who is in control of it. In Gods words he tells us about being controlled by evil things, Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. (Romans 8:8) 

Then He also tells us who Gods people are controlled by, You however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the spirit, if the spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, He does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in You, Your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His spirit. Who lives in you? 

Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation but it is not the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, your will die: but if by the spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the spirit of son ship and by Him we cry, Abba, Father. The spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs - Heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we may also share in His Glory. (Romans 8:9-17) 

To some up the truth we should look at what God has to say, If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. (Romans 14:8) 

This is where the Lord our God lets us know that, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation, the old has gone, and the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17) 

After we learn that Christ is the Head of our Life!!! We then need to know whom He really is and how to tell others about Him! 

There are so many Christians or should we say so-called Christians that claim to know about God but don't live it. So, how do we know if a Christian is for real or not? One way is that if he or she is a real Christians then you should be able to tell by the way they live. A real Christians will do more than talk about God. He or she will also live Godly. I believe that one of the sayings we have as Christians is, They will talk the talk and walk the walk!
This is why we need to learn how to pray together and worship together so that we can learn how to work in one accord and in unity. 

It tells us in God's words that we must teach our loved ones accord to the doctrine, You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. (Titus 2:1-8) 

Its by the grace of God that we have this opportunity to teach His word to others, along with this God gives us salvation through His son our Lord Jesus Christ!!! 

Gods words goes on to say, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and Godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. 

These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you (Titus 2:1-15) 

In this book it gives us starting point in our lives and also shows us the way we should live. The things to teach our older men and women, this is just part of our lives that God shows us how to deal with them by use of his words (The Bible). 

There is so much more if we only look for it. God wants us to use his words to live by! So that we can show ourselves. Approved. I don't want you to hear me, but to hear the Lord. He gives us a warning to pay attention: 
We must pay more careful attention. Therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord; was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will, (Hebrews 2:1-4) 

Its like the way we live here. Prison is not like a vacation away from home or Work! Or at a country club, where you don't have anything to worry about!! I know that a lot of people think that prison is too easy for us. But let me tell you, prison is not a easy place to spend your time or even a easy place you would want to spend it if a person thinks it is too easy for us, then they should come and visit us for a few days!!! Its not Heaven; its not even Hell! Even though some think so. 

What it can be called is a stopping place for one or the other. In here you can either changer your life and start a new one, or you can stay in you old sinful ways and never get out of here. I here you have no idea of what’s going to happen today, much less in what's going to happen tomorrow. So we need to pay more attention to the things that we say and do. We cannot say in our sinful life to someone else, stop what you doing and change our ways if we are still in our own ways! Because, they won't pay us any attention because, of the way we are living. So by the grace of God and the change in our lives others can come to know God. If we apply Gods word to our lives then someone that knows us can apply Gods words to their lives and on and on cannot you see how this can change the ways of many lives! This is how the ways of life changes so much in our world that we live in. By the rights and wrongs of others. So if we will just submit. 

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and He will flee from you. Come near God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your heart, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against His brother or judges Him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one lawgiver and judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you, who are you to judge your neighbor? 
My last words for you are for you to learn to be obedient to Gods word and that you prepare your minds for action. You should be Holy in your living and an example to others that are around you. Here God gives us an example how to be Holy! 

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled, and set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is Holy, so be Holy in all you do, for it is written, Be Holy, because I am Holy.

Since you call on a Father who Judges each mans work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ. Lambs without blemish or defect. He was revealed in these last time for sake. Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith and hope are in God. Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field, the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.

And this is the Words that were preached to YOU.

My prayer for you my brothers and sisters would be that God would enter your life and that His Holy Spirit would lead you to a love relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

O God, be with each one of us today, that we may come to know your true love for each one of us. We should learn how to give this love out to others freely as you have to us. Lord, I ask that we all can come to obey you more each and everyday, that if any of us is in trouble, he will feel free to come and ask us to pray with Him. Because you said that the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Lord, its in you the we live in obedience to your word, and today we ask that you help us in this obedience each day as we grow to be better Christians. We ask that you teach us the things we need to know for the coming day! Lord we thank you for the Words you have given us to live by 

We also thank you for the things you have done in the past as well as in the present. Lord, we thank you for the things that you have stored for us in the future.
