87 KJV Files versus 86 KJV Files
So what's the difference between the two ASCII text versions of
the bibles here? Well, to save everybody a great deal of time, I
have pulled the first 10 verses of Matthew from both books so you
can see the two formats available.
1. First, the 87 KJV files are in order; meaning, Genesis,
Exodus, Leviticus, etc. The 86KJV files are stored in random
order to keep all the files about the same size.
OK, Here is a text example of the 87 KJV:

As you can see, it is all CAPS and one very long line!! Now,
which version is right? Right for what? If you are looking for
a text to cut and paste with a word processor, our one which is
easy to read on screen, then the 87 version would probably be
best. If you are looking for a text which can be read into a
database, then, the line format of 86 is best.
I pray this short document will assist you in determining which
KJV ASCII bible version you are after. A final note: In the
compressed format, the files look fairly tame (about 1.4 to 1.5
meg) per version. Be fore warned, expanded, both will require
about 4 meg!
