I hate to hear people who are Pro-Life use the terms of the other side, calling
it "abortion". The word "abortion" is that used by those that believe that
the child is NOT a human being, not priviledged to life so it can be "aborted"
like a plane flight can be "aborted". When we adopt the word "abortion", we
have acquiesed to failure, we have lost most of the battle. When we feel that
it is killing, call it such, not the watered down, pretty terms of those that
support this slaughter.

Agreed, and I'd go one step farther... those performing abortions are, in
plain point of fact, murderers. Perhaps a more descriptive term would be
"assassins for hire" because abortion is a big business in this country. There
are abortionists who are making big bucks by plying their grisly trade. What
is ironic is that many girls who are "in trouble" don't realize that there are
pro-life agencies that would be willing to shelter them AND make sure that ALL
the expenses associated with bearing their babies are fully paid (and that
would offer them love and support in the process). Instead, they go to an
abortionist who will charge them a substantial fee to torture, mutilate, and
finally murder their unborn child, and who views them only as a source of
income (how could the abortionist possibly claim to care about his patients if
torturing and murdering defenseless babies doesn't faze him?).
One other point, I wonder how many Christians have ever bothered to inquire as
to whether their doctors do abortions? Unfortunately, some doctors do them
quietly for their patients. I for one would not want to place myself in the
hands of a doctor who has so little regard for life that he would participate
in the torture and murder of an unborn baby. You can bet that if doctors
started losing patients (especially whole families) because they did
abortions, they might actually start thinking about what it is that they're
doing (if the patients would write the doctor a letter explaining why they're
leaving and why they feel abortion is wrong, it could make an impact on some
doctors who have never really considered the moral implications of abortions).

Andrew, sounds like a film I saw entitled "Silent Scream". Besides seeing the
child ripped apart, one could see the child trying to get away from the
instrument and the mouth, as if he were screaming. It left such an impression
on me. The doctor that performed the abortion watched the film and has not
done another since. Abortion is murder. Thanks for sharing the information and
address.

Subj: WHICH COMPANIES FUND THE PRO-ABORTION MOVEMENT
WHO FUNDS THE "ABORTION RIGHTS" MOVEMENT?
For many years the state of Michigan has been one of only a handful of states
that uses tax dollars to fund abortions for people on welfare under the
Medicaid program. Each year, the state legislature has passed legislation
banning this practice, and each year the incumbant Governor (first Governor
Milliken and now Governor Blanchard) have vetoed this legislation under
pressure from the "abortion rights" groups.
In 1987, Right to Life of Mighigan and other pro-life organizations launched a
massive petition drive in support of the law banning Medicaid funded
abortions. More than twice the required number of signatures were collected
by unpaid volunteers in only 83 days, and under the Michigan constitution the
Governor could not veto the citizen-initiated law.
That might have been the end of the matter, except that the pro-murder-of-the-
unborn forces formed an organization with the blatently misleading name of
"The Committe for the Protection of Michigan Lives" and started their own
petition drive to force the issue to a voter referendum on November 8 of this
year. It is worth noting that it took them 232 days to gather only 229,128
signatures (compared with 461,089 on the original pro-life petition), despite
the use of highly questionable tactics in gathering signatures. In one
reported case, a pro-murder activist was at the Eastbrook Bowling Lanes on
January 18 at 1:00 p.m. where senior citizens (the majority between 70 and 80
years old) were bowling. These seniors were approached and asked to sign
petitions for medical care to be put on the ballot, but abortion was NEVER
MENTIONED. When a pro-lifer approached these people and explained to them
what they were signing for, they were angry and asked to be removed from the
petition. The petition-bearer then left.
It is known that many of the signatures on the latter petitions were gathered
not by unpaid volunteers, but by paid circulators who received 50 cents per
signature. That, of course, raises the question of who's financing the pro-
murder campaign. The list of contributors may suprise some people:
* The Michigan Education Association - the state's largest teacher's union -
was the single largest contributor, giving $30,000 for the petition drive
through December, 1987. They also made an "in-kind" contribution of $900 in
computer services, and allowed the pro-murder coalition to hold their regular
weekly meetings in the executive board room of MEA headquarters in East
Lansing, Michigan. One unidentified source at MEA offices was quoted as
saying that the executive board room at MEA Headquarters had served as a
virtual nerve certer for the pro-murder movement, and that "they seem to have
top priority in scheduling the room." By the way, the $30,000 contribution
came from the union's "Contingency Fund", which in turn comes from membership
dues. And in addition to all of that support, the MEA President, Vice
President, and the MEA Professional Staff Association each contributed $500,
and the MEA Women's Caucus gave $1,000.
* The Planned Parenthood affiliates of Michigan collectively gave $31,832
* The Michigan Chapter of the National Association for Women (N.O.W.)
contributed $12,584
* The National Abortion Rights Action League gave $6,000
* The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan gave $4,761

* Janet Herman, wife of Jim Herman, editor of the Traverse City Record Eagle

October 5
Today my life began. My parents do not know it yet. I am as small as a seed of
an apple, but it is I already. And I am to be a girl. I shall have blond hair
and azure blue eyes. Just about everything is settled though. Even the fact
that I shall love flowers.
October 19
I have grown a little, but I am still too samll to do anything by myself. My
mother does just about everything for me. And what is odd she still doesn't
even know that she is carrying me here under her heart, and that she is
helping me already, that she is even feeding me with her blood. She is so
good. Some say that I am not a real person yet, that only my mother exists.
But I am a real person, just as a small crumb of bread is yet truly bread. My
mother is. And I am.
October 23
My mouth is just beginning to open now. Just think, in a year or so I shall be
laughing, and later talking. I know that my first word shall be...Mama.
October 28 My heart began to beat today all by itself. From now on it shall
gently beat for the rest of my life, without ever stopping to rest. And after
many years it will tire, it will stop and I shall die.
November 2
I am growing a bit every day. My arms and legs are beginning to take shape.
But I have to wait a long time yet before those little legs will raise me to
my mother's arms, before those little arms will be able to gather flowers and
embrace my father.

Tiny fingers are beginning to form on my hands. Funny how small they are. I
shall be able to stroke my mother's hair with them. And I shall take her hair
to my mouth and she will probably say, "Oh, nasty."

It wasn't until today that the doctor told Mom that I am living here under her
heart. Oh, how happy she must be. Are you happy, Mom?

My Mom and Dad are probably thinking about a name for me. But they don't even
know that I am a little girl. They are probably saying Andy. But I want to be
called Cathy. I am getting so big now.
December 10
My hair is growing. It is smooth and bright and shiny. I wonder what kind of
hair Mom has?

I am just about able to see. It is dark around me. When Mom brings me into the
world, it will be full of sunshine and flowers. I have never seen a flower,
you know. But what I want more than anything is to see my Mom. How do you look
Mom?

I wonder if Mom hears the whispering beat of my heart? Some children come into
the world a little sick. And then the delicate hands of the doctor perform
miracles to bring them to health. But my heart is strong and healthy. It beats

A good friend of mine, Alan Rees, who is sometimes on this echo (via El
Dorado, Arkansas) telephoned me the other night, and played over the phone a
tape recording of a radio call-in talk show which he participated in. One of
the men receiving callers' questions was on the advisory board of the regional
Planned Parenthood organization. He was there to inform everyone about all the
good work Planned Parenthood do, etc. Alan asked him about all the abortions
they've supported. Alan had the facts and figures. Quite astronomical, in
terms of the numbers of abortions this organization has directly been
responsible for, and they financially profited by it as well (don't know how
that works offhand). Alan's call shocked the people on the other end. The man
blurted out something about only being on the "advisory committee", and he
said he "didn't know" about all that, etc. Then the woman who was hosting the
program cut Alan off, and said he had not asked the question he'd said he
would ask when he spoke to the fellow who "filters" callers. Alan had in fact
told this man that he was going to ask about what Planned Parenthood did,
etc., and his question was within that context.

What does God have to say?
These tiny packages of humanity, are they really people?
Well, God seems to think they are.
"Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, `Before I formed you in the womb,
I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a
prophet to the nations.'" (Jer. 1:4-5) God knew Jeremiah when he was in his
mothers belly; God sactified him and ordained him to be a prophet. If by
abortion, the baby should have been killed, it would have been Jeremiah who
was killed. Jeremiah's mother would not have known his name, but God had
already named him. His mother would not have known he was potentially a
mighty prophet of God, but God had so planned it, and would have felt the
loss.
The Bible tells us that John the Baptist was "filled with the Holy Spirit,
while yet in his mother's womb." (Luke1:15) God sent His angel to Zacharias to
tell him his wife would bear a son, and even told him what his name was to be.
He was told that "many will rejoice at his birth-for he will be great in the
sight of the Lord." (Luke 1:11-17)
It seems like God knew John quiet well and that He had a distinct purpose for
his life on earth... a purpose for him and him alone to fulfill.
Last but certainly not least, the angel Gabriel announced to Mary, "Behold, you
will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and shall name Him Jesus. He will
be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High... and his Kingdom will
have no end." (Luke 1:31-33) And so you see, God doesn't wait until a baby
moves or becomes completely ready for life outside of his mother, before He
knows it, loves it, and recognizes it as a tiny human being...so why shouldn't
we do the same!

womb...My frame was not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret... Thine
eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in They book they were all written,
the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them." -

A portion of the profit's from this company go into the R.L. Kroc Leadership
and Visiting Scholars Endowment. This endowment granted a sizable sum to fund
American research into using aborted babies as a source for organs and tissues
used in medical procedures.
When letters of protest to McDonald's VP R.G. Starman he wrote back " ...We are
convinced that freedom of personal choice is the best way we can address such
