Sex Education and our Children

  If the Los Angeles Unified School District adopts the
lessons a blue-ribbon task force is advocating, AIDS
curriculum in the public schools will read like a homosexual
how-to manual.  It's a classic case of a school board
appointed committee gone bad.
 
  The LA School Board claims to have set up the task force th
gather AIDS information from the medical profession.  But
shortly after the blue-ribbon meetings began, the committee
split itself into three sub-committees adn decided to
develop an AIDS curriculum.  Not long after that
"outercourse" became the perferential topic of discussion.
 
    Outercourse teaches children how to have sex just shy of
    intercourse.  It includes "phone sex, videos ... mutual
    masturbation, masturbation massage, rubbing bodies
    together..."
 
  The blue-ribbon task force is headed by Gabe Kruks, a youth
director for the Gay and Lesbian Service Center in LA.  Take
a look at the rest of the committee and Kruks looks tame.
On the list are several ACT UP members (ACT UP, you may
already know, is a militant homosexual activist
orginization.)
 
  Virginia Uribe, author of the highly
controversial Project 10, a homosexual recrruitment program
for high school students.
 
  Dave Johnson, another co-chair, is the LA AIDS coordinator.
Johnson is dying of AIDS and helped draft AIDS policy for LA
which, if accepted, would be the most comprehensive policy
in the country.
 
ACTION:
 
Call or write William Anton, Superintendant of Schools,
Roberta Weintraub (the author of the resolution to develop
the HIV/AIDS Taskforce), and the other school board members
to voice your opinion.
