JAMES

York Bible Society, used by permission of Zondervan Bible Publishers.

MAT 4:21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of
Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father
Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them,

22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

10:2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is
called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother
John;

17:1 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother
of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.

20:20 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and,
kneeling down, asked a favor of him.

21 "What is it you want?" he asked. She said, "Grant that one of these two
sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your
kingdom."

22 "You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said to them. "Can you
drink the cup I am going to drink?" "We can," they answered.

23 Jesus said to them, "You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at
my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for
whom they have been prepared by my Father."

26:37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he
began to be sorrowful and troubled.

27:56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses,
and the mother of Zebedee's sons.

MAR 1:19 When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee
and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets.

20 Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the
boat with the hired men and followed him.

29 As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to
the home of Simon and Andrew.

3:17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name
Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder);

5:37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the
brother of James.

9:2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them
up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured
before them.

10:35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. "Teacher,"
they said, "we want you to do for us whatever we ask."

36 "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked.

37 They replied, "Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your
left in your glory."

38 "You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said. "Can you drink the
cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?"

39 "We can," they answered. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I
drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with,

40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places
belong to those for whom they have been prepared."

41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and
John.

13:3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple,
Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,

14:33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be
deeply distressed and troubled.

LUK 5:10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's
partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will
catch men."

6:14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip,
Bartholomew,

8:51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in
with him except Peter, John and James, and the child's father and mother.

9:28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James
with him and went up onto a mountain to pray.

JOH 21:2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in
Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.

ACT 1:13 When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were
staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and
Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the
Zealot, and Judas son of James.

12:2 He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword.
