GEN 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast
array.
3:24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden
of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the
way to the tree of life.
16:7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was
the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting
in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and
bowed down with his face to the ground.
13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD
against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."
24:7 "The LORD, the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father's
household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath,
saying, 'To your offspring I will give this land'--he will send his angel
before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there.
32:2 When Jacob saw them, he said, "This is the camp of God!" So he named
that place Mahanaim.
EXO 3:2 There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from
within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn
up.
14:19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel's
army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in
front and stood behind them,
23:20 "See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way
and to bring you to the place I have prepared.

wall, crushing Balaam's foot against it. So he beat her again.
26 Then the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place
where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left.
27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam,
and he was angry and beat her with his staff.
35 The angel of the LORD said to Balaam, "Go with the men, but speak only
what I tell you." So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.
DEU 33:2 He said: "The LORD came from Sinai and dawned over them from
Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran. He came with myriads of holy ones
from the south, from his mountain slopes.
JOS 5:14 "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD

was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
17 When David saw the angel who was striking down the people, he said to
the LORD, "I am the one who has sinned and done wrong. These are but sheep.
What have they done? Let your hand fall upon me and my family."
1KI 19:5 Then he lay down under the tree and fell asleep. All at once an
angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat."
7 The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said,
"Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you."
2KI 1:15 The angel of the LORD said to Elijah, "Go down with him; do not
be afraid of him." So Elijah got up and went down with him to the king.
6:17 And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the
LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of
horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
19:35 That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred
and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up
the next morning--there were all the dead bodies!
1CH 12:22 Day after day men came to help David, until he had a great army,
like the army of God.

2CH 18:18 Micaiah continued, "Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw
the LORD sitting on his throne with all the host of heaven standing on his
right and on his left.
32:21 And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and
the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew
to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god,
some of his sons cut him down with the sword.
NEH 9:6 You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest
heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the
seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the
multitudes of heaven worship you.
JOB 4:15 A spirit glided past my face, and the hair on my body stood on

he had taken with tongs from the altar.

your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."
63:9 In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his
presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them
up and carried them all the days of old.
EZE 1:13 The appearance of the living creatures was like burning coals of
fire or like torches. Fire moved back and forth among the creatures; it was
bright, and lightning flashed out of it.
14 The creatures sped back and forth like flashes of lightning.
24 When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the
roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of

DAN 4:13 "In the visions I saw while lying in my bed, I looked, and there
before me was a messenger, a holy one, coming down from heaven.
14 He called in a loud voice: 'Cut down the tree and trim off its
branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee
from under it and the birds from its branches.
15 But let the stump and its roots, bound with iron and bronze, remain in
the ground, in the grass of the field. "'Let him be drenched with the dew
of heaven, and let him live with the animals among the plants of the earth.
16 Let his mind be changed from that of a man and let him be given the
mind of an animal, till seven times pass by for him.
17 "'The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the
verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over
the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them
the lowliest of men.'
6:22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have
not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever
done any wrong before you, O king."
7:10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands
upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before
him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.
8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him,
"How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled--the vision
concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, and
the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host that will be trampled
underfoot?"
19 He said: "I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of
wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end.
9:21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the
earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening
sacrifice.
22 He instructed me and said to me, "Daniel, I have now come to give you
insight and understanding.
23 As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to
tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the message and
understand the vision:
24 "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to
finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to
bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to
anoint the most holy.
25 "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore
and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will
be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets
and a trench, but in times of trouble.
26 After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will
have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city
and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until
the end, and desolations have been decreed.
27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of
the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of
the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the
end that is decreed is poured out on him."
10:6 His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like
flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and
his voice like the sound of a multitude.
10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.
11 He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the
words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to
you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that
you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your
God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then
Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained
there with the king of Persia.
14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in
the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."
15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground
and was speechless.
16 Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth
and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, "I am overcome
with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I am helpless.
17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone
and I can hardly breathe."
18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.
19 "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strong
now; be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Speak,
my lord, since you have given me strength."
20 So he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to
fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece
will come;
ZEC 1:9 I asked, "What are these, my lord?" The angel who was talking with
me answered, "I will show you what they are."
10 Then the man standing among the myrtle trees explained, "They are the
ones the LORD has sent to go throughout the earth."
11 And they reported to the angel of the LORD, who was standing among the
myrtle trees, "We have gone throughout the earth and found the whole world
at rest and in peace."
12 Then the angel of the LORD said, "LORD Almighty, how long will you
withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have
been angry with these seventy years?"
13 So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked
with me.
14 Then the angel who was speaking to me said, "Proclaim this word: This
is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion,
6:5 The angel answered me, "These are the four spirits of heaven, going
out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world.
MAT 1:20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared
to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take
Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy
Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded
him and took Mary home as his wife.
2:13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a
dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to
Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the
child to kill him."
19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in
Egypt
4:6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is
written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift
you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a
stone.'"
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
13:39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of
the age, and the harvesters are angels.
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his
kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and
separate the wicked from the righteous
16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his
angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
18:10 "See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I
tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in

looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place

MAR 1:13 and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He
was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.
8:38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his
Father's glory with the holy angels."
12:25 When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in
marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

LUK 1:11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right

has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to

15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine
or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even
from birth.
16 Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God.
17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah,
to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to
the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
18 Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man
and my wife is well along in years."
19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and
I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.
20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this
happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at
their proper time."
28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored!
The Lord is with you."
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of
greeting this might be.
30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found
favor with God.
31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him
the name Jesus.
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord
God will give him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will
never end."
34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power
of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be
called the Son of God.
36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age,
and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
37 For nothing is impossible with God."
38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have
said." Then the angel left her.
2:7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths
and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch
over their flocks at night.
9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone
around them, and they were terrified.
10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of
great joy that will be for all the people.
11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ
the Lord.
12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and
lying in a manger."
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying,
14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his
favor rests."
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said
to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has
happened, which the Lord has told us about."
4:10 For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you to
guard you carefully;
11:2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your
name, your kingdom come.
12:8 "I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will
also acknowledge him before the angels of God.
9 But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of
God.
15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in
heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons
who do not need to repent.
10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the
angels of God over one sinner who repents."
16:22 "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to
Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.
20:35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and
in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in
marriage,
36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are
God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.
22:43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
JOH 1:51 He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open,
and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

ACT 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into
the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will
come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
5:19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the
jail and brought them out.
7:30 "After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the
flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.
35 "This is the same Moses whom they had rejected with the words, 'Who
made you ruler and judge?' He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by
God himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
53 you who have received the law that was put into effect through angels

distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, "Cornelius!"

He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and

GAL 3:19 What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added because of
transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The
law was put into effect through angels by a mediator.

2:2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation

7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory

12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city
of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in

not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the
Lord.
JUD 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but
abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with
everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.
9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil
about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation
against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the
Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones
15 to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly
acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly
sinners have spoken against him."
REV 1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his
servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel
to his servant John,
5:2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy
to break the seals and open the scroll?"
3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the
scroll or even look inside it.
4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the
scroll or look inside.
5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the
tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the
scroll and its seven seals."
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the
center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the
elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of
God sent out into all the earth.
7 He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the
throne.
8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four
elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding
golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
9 And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open
its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men
for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and
they will reign on the earth."
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands
upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the
throne and the living creatures and the elders.
12 In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to
receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and
praise!"
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth
and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the
throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever
and ever!"
14 The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and
worshiped.
7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the
earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from
blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.
2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the
living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been
given power to harm the land and the sea:
3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the
foreheads of the servants of our God."
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders
and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the
throne and worshiped God,
12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and
power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!"
13 Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes--who are they,
and where did they come from?"
14 I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come
out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them
white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and
night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent
over them.
16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun
will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he
will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every
tear from their eyes."
8:2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were
given seven trumpets.
3 Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He
was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the
golden altar before the throne.
4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went
up before God from the angel's hand.
5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and
hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes
of lightning and an earthquake.
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed
with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was
burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was
burned up.
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge
mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned
into blood,
9 a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the
ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a
torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of
water--
11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter,
and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was
struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of
them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of
the night.
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a
loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the
trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"
9:15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and
day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.
10:1 Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed
in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and
his legs were like fiery pillars.
12:7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against
the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
14:10 he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured
full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning
sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.
15:1 I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with
the seven last plagues--last, because with them God's wrath is completed.
18:1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great
authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.
19:10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do
not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold
to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy."
22:6 The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The
Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his
servants the things that must soon take place."
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard
and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been
showing them to me.
9 But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and
with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book.
Worship God!"
16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the
churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning
Star."
