GEN 2:23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my
flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."
24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to
his wife, and they will become one flesh.
3:16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in
childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will
be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
18:19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his
household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and
just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised
him."
35:2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Get rid
of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change
your clothes.
45:24 Then he sent his brothers away, and as they were leaving he said to
them, "Don't quarrel on the way!"
50:17 'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your
brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.'
Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father."
When their message came to him, Joseph wept.
18 His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. "We are
your slaves," they said.
19 But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God?
20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish
what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
21 So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children."
And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.
DEU 4:9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not
forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as
long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after
them.
10 Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, when he
said to me, "Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they
may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them
to their children."
14:26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or
other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household
shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice.
29:18 Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today
whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of
those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such
bitter poison.
JOS 24:15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose
for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your
forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose
land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the
LORD."
2SA 6:20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter
of Saul came out to meet him and said, "How the king of Israel has
distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of
his servants as any vulgar fellow would!"
EST 1:20 Then when the king's edict is proclaimed throughout all his vast
realm, all the women will respect their husbands, from the least to the
greatest."
22 He sent dispatches to all parts of the kingdom, to each province in its
own script and to each people in its own language, proclaiming in each
people's tongue that every man should be ruler over his own household.
JOB 1:5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and
have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt
offering for each of them, thinking, "Perhaps my children have sinned and
cursed God in their hearts." This was Job's regular custom.
PSA 101:7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who
speaks falsely will stand in my presence.
128:3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons
will be like olive shoots around your table.
6 and may you live to see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel.
133:1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
PRO 31:27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat
the bread of idleness.
JER 10:25 Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you,
on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob;
they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland.
MAT 18:21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall
I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
22 Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
JOH 11:1 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the
village of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who
poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.
3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Lord, the one you love is sick."
4 When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death.
No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it."
5 Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
ACT 10:2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave
generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.
33 So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we
are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has
commanded you to tell us."
16:15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited
us to her home. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said,
"come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.
31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you
and your household."
32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in
his house.
33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds;
then immediately he and all his family were baptized.
34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he
was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God--he and his whole
family.
18:8 Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in
the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were
baptized.
1CO 7:10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife
must not separate from her husband.
11:7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of
God; but the woman is the glory of man.
8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;
9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
16:19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and
Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets
at their house.
EPH 5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the
church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to
their husbands in everything.
COL 3:18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
1TI 3:2 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one
wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a
lover of money.
4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him
with proper respect.
5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take
care of God's church?)
12 A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his
children and his household well.
2TI 1:5 I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in
your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now
lives in you also.
1PE 3:1 Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if
any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by
the behavior of their wives,
6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her
daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
