GOD (PART 1)

Taken from the HOLY BIBLE: NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (C) 1978 by the New
York Bible Society, used by permission of Zondervan Bible Publishers.

JOB 12:7 "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of
the air, and they will tell you;

8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea
inform you.

9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done
this?

10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all
mankind.

11 Does not the ear test words as the tongue tastes food?

37:1 "At this my heart pounds and leaps from its place.

2 Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from
his mouth.

3 He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the
ends of the earth.

4 After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic
voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back.

5 God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our
understanding.

6 He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a
mighty downpour.'

7 So that all men he has made may know his work, he stops every man from
his labor.

8 The animals take cover; they remain in their dens.

9 The tempest comes out from its chamber, the cold from the driving winds.

10 The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen.

11 He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through
them.

12 At his direction they swirl around over the face of the whole earth to
do whatever he commands them.

13 He brings the clouds to punish men, or to water his earth and show his
love.

14 "Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God's wonders.

15 Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash?

16 Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who is
perfect in knowledge?

17 You who swelter in your clothes when the land lies hushed under the
south wind,

18 can you join him in spreading out the skies, hard as a mirror of cast
bronze?

19 "Tell us what we should say to him; we cannot draw up our case because
of our darkness.

20 Should he be told that I want to speak? Would any man ask to be
swallowed up?

21 Now no one can look at the sun, bright as it is in the skies after the
wind has swept them clean.

22 Out of the north he comes in golden splendor; God comes in awesome
majesty.

23 The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice
and great righteousness, he does not oppress.

24 Therefore, men revere him, for does he not have regard for all the wise
in heart?"

PSA 8:1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You
have set your glory above the heavens.

2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because
of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the
stars, which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care
for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him
with glory and honor.

6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything
under his feet:

7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths
of the seas.

9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of
his hands.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display
knowledge.

3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the
world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,

5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a
champion rejoicing to run his course.

6  It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is hidden from its heat.

ACT 14:17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown
kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he
provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."

17:23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of
worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.
Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

24 "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven
and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.

25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because
he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

26 From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the
whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places
where they should live.

27 God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him
and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

28 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own
poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'

ROM 1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the
godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their
wickedness,

19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has
made it plain to them.

20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his
eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood
from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

10:16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says,
"Lord, who has believed our message?"

17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is
heard through the word of Christ.

18 But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: "Their voice has gone
out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."
