JESUS (PART 5)
Taken from the HOLY BIBLE: NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (C) 1978 by the New
York Bible Society, used by permission of Zondervan Bible Publishers.
GEN 49:10 The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff
from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience
of the nations is his.
NUM 24:17 "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will
come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the
foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth.
1SA 2:10 those who oppose the LORD will be shattered. He will thunder
against them from heaven; the LORD will judge the ends of the earth. "He
will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed."
PSA 2:6 "I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."
18:43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made
me the head of nations; people I did not know are subject to me.
24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD
mighty in battle.
45:3 Gird your sword upon your side, O mighty one; clothe yourself with
splendor and majesty.
4 In your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and
righteousness; let your right hand display awesome deeds.
5 Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; let the
nations fall beneath your feet.
6 Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice
will be the scepter of your kingdom.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has
set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.
72:5 He will endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all
generations.
8 He will rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the
earth.
11 All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him.
89:3 You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to
David my servant,
4 'I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through
all generations.'" Selah
19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: "I have
bestowed strength on a warrior; I have exalted a young man from among the
people.
20 I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21 My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
23 I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.
27 I will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of
the earth.
29 I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens
endure.
36 that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me
like the sun;
37 it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in
the sky." Selah
110:1 The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your
enemies a footstool for your feet."
2 The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the
midst of your enemies.
132:11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath that he will not
revoke: "One of your own descendants I will place on your throne--
17 "Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my
anointed one.
ISA 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a
throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government
will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He
will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and
upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
11:10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the
peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be
glorious.
32:1 See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with
justice.
33:17 Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that
stretches afar.
40:10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him.
See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.
52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good
news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
13 See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and
highly exalted.
JER 23:5 "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up
to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is
just and right in the land.
6 In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is
the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.
30:9 Instead, they will serve the LORD their God and David their king,
whom I will raise up for them.
33:17 For this is what the LORD says: 'David will never fail to have a man
to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,
EZE 37:24 "'My servant David will be king over them, and they will all
have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my
decrees.
25 They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where
your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children
will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.
DAN 2:35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were
broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing
floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But
the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole
earth.
44 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom
that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It
will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself
endure forever.
7:13 "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a
son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of
Days and was led into his presence.
14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations
and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting
dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be
destroyed.
8:23 "In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become
completely wicked, a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise.
25 He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior.
When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the
Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
9:25 "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore
and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will
be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets
and a trench, but in times of trouble.
HOS 3:5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God
and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his
blessings in the last days.
MIC 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the
clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over
Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."
4 He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the
majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live securely, for
then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.
ZEC 6:13 It is he who will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be
clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a
priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.'
9:9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and
riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the war-horses from
Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the
nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the
ends of the earth.
MAT 2:2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?
We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."
6 "'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among
the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the
shepherd of my people Israel.'"
3:12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing
floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with
unquenchable fire."
12:6 I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
13:41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of
his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
19:28 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all
things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have
followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of
Israel.
21:5 "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle
and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"
25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with
him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the
people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are
blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you
since the creation of the world.
26:64 "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In
the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the
Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
27:11 Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked
him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus
replied.
28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to me.
LUK 1:32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The
Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will
never end."
2:11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is
Christ the Lord.
10:22 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who
the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the
Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."
19:27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--
bring them here and kill them in front of me.'"
22:29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on
me,
30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on
thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
23:42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
JOH 1:49 Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are
the King of Israel."
3:31 "The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the
earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who
comes from heaven is above all.
12:13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
"Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is
the King of Israel!"
15 "Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated
on a donkey's colt."
13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and
that he had come from God and was returning to God;
18:36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my
servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom
is from another place."
37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in
saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I
came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth
listens to me."
19:19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read:
JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
ACT 2:30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath
that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.
3:15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We
are witnesses of this.
5:31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he
might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
10:36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the
good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
ROM 9:5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human
ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.
14:9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he
might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
1CO 15:23 But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he
comes, those who belong to him.
24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the
Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
27 For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that
"everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include
God himself, who put everything under Christ.
28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him
who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
EPH 1:20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and
seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title
that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head
over everything for the church,
PHI 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the
name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth
and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God
the Father.
1TI 6:15 which God will bring about in his own time--God, the blessed and
only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no
one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
2TI 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to
me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
HEB 2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with
glory and honor
8 and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God
left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see
everything subject to him.
10:12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for
sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
13 Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool,
1PE 3:22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels,
authorities and powers in submission to him.
REV 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn
from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us
and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father-
-to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even
those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because
of him. So shall it be! Amen.
18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and
ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
3:7 "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words
of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no
one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of
the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation.
21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my
throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.
5:5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the
tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the
scroll and its seven seals."
12 In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to
receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and
praise!"
6:2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow,
and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the
mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks
of the mountains.
16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us
from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?"
11:15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in
heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our
Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."
12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the
salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of
his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our
God day and night, has been hurled down.
14:14 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the
cloud was one "like a son of man" with a crown of gold on his head and a
sharp sickle in his hand.
17:14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them
because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his
called, chosen and faithful followers."
19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse,
whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes
war.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has
a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the
nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress
of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS
AND LORD OF LORDS.
20:4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority
to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of
their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not
worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their
foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a
thousand years.
6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The
second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of
Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
