POWER

GEN 1:2  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the 
surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

18:14  Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the 
appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."

32:28  Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, 
because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome."

EXO 8:19  The magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." But 
Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the LORD had 
said.

9:3  the hand of the LORD will bring a terrible plague on your livestock in 
the field--on your horses and donkeys and camels and on your cattle and

holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?

12  You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed them.

DEU 3:24  "O Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show to your servant your 
greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth 
who can do the deeds and mighty works you do?

32:39  "See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to 
death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can 
deliver out of my hand.

1SA 14:6  Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, "Come, let's go over to 
the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act in 
our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by 
few."

1CH 16:9  Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

29:11  Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the

EZR 8:22  I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to 
protect us from enemies on the road, because we had told the king, "The 
gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great 
anger is against all who forsake him."

NEH 1:10  "They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by 
your great strength and your mighty hand.

JOB 5:9  He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot

9:4  His wisdom is profound, his power is vast. Who has resisted him and

89:8  O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and 
your faithfulness surrounds you.

13  Your arm is endued with power; your hand is strong, your right hand

102:25  In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the

104:30  When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face

ECC 3:11  He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set 
eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done 
from beginning to end.

ISA 11:4  but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he 
will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth 
with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the

26:4  Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock

and not be faint.

41:10  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your 
God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my 
righteous right hand.

43:13  Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my 
hand. When I act, who can reverse it?"

48:13  My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand 
spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together.

52:10  The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, 
and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

63:1  Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained 
crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness 
of his strength? "It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save."

3  "I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with 
me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood 
spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing.

12  who sent his glorious arm of power to be at Moses' right hand, who 
divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown,

JER 5:22  Should you not fear me?" declares the LORD. "Should you not 
tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an 
everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot 
prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.

10:12  But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his 
wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

20:11  But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors 
will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; 
their dishonor will never be forgotten.

32:27  "I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

EZE 37:11  Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house 
of Israel. They say, 'Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are 
cut off.'

12  Therefore prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD 
says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from 
them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.

13  Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your 
graves and bring you up from them.

14  I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in 
your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have 
done it, declares the LORD.'"

DAN 3:17  If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is 
able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.

4:35  All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he 
pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can 
hold back his hand or say to him: "What have you done?"

MIC 3:8  But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the 
LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to 
Israel his sin.

NAH 1:3  The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will not 
leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and 
clouds are the dust of his feet.

ZEC 4:6  So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 
'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.

7  "What are you, O mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become 
level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of 'God bless 
it! God bless it!'"

MAT 6:13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil 
one.'

7:28  When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed 
at his teaching,

29  because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers 
of the law.

8:27  The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the 
winds and the waves obey him!"

9:6  But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to 
forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and 
go home."

10:1  He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to 
drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

28  Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. 
Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

12:28  But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of 
God has come upon you.

19:26  Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but 
with God all things are possible."

22:29  Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the 
Scriptures or the power of God.

28:18  Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on 
earth has been given to me.

MAR 9:29  He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer."

13:26  "At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with 
great power and glory.

16:17  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they 
will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

18  they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly 
poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick 
people, and they will get well."

LUK 1:17  And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of 
Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the 
disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared 
for the Lord."

35  The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power 
of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be 
called the Son of God.

4:14  Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about 
him spread through the whole countryside.

32  They were amazed at his teaching, because his message had authority.

5:17  One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who 
had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were 
sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the 
sick.

10:17  The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons 
submit to us in your name."

11:20  But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of 
God has come to you.

12:5  But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the 
killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, 
fear him.

24:49  I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the 
city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

JOH 1:3  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made 
that has been made.

10  He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the 
world did not recognize him.

2:18  Then the Jews demanded of him, "What miraculous sign can you show us 
to prove your authority to do all this?"

19  Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in 
three days."

3:35  The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

5:17  Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very 
day, and I, too, am working."

18  For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was 
he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making 
himself equal with God.

19  Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do 
nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because 
whatever the Father does the Son also does.

21  For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the 
Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.

25  I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead 
will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

26  For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to 
have life in himself.

28  "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in 
their graves will hear his voice

29  and come out--those who have done good will rise to live, and those who 
have done evil will rise to be condemned.

7:38  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living 
water will flow from within him."

39  By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later 
to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had 
not yet been glorified.

10:28  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can 
snatch them out of my hand.

29  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can 
snatch them out of my Father's hand.

30  I and the Father are one."

16:33  "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In 
this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the 
world."

17:2  For you granted him authority over all people that he might give 
eternal life to all those you have given him.

ACT 1:8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and 
you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to 
the ends of the earth."

9  After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud 
hid him from their sight.

2:2  Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven 
and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3  They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to 
rest on each of them.

4  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other 
tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

5:31  God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he 
might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

6:5  This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full 
of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, 
Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

8  Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and 
miraculous signs among the people.

10  but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he 
spoke.

10:38  how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, 
and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power 
of the devil, because God was with him.

ROM 1:16  I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God 
for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the 
Gentile.

20  For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his 
eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood 
from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

4:21  being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

8:11  And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in 
you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal 
bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

26  In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know 
what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with 
groans that words cannot express.

9:21  Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of 
clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

22  What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore 
with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?

15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in 
him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

19  by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So 
from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the 
gospel of Christ.

1CO 1:18  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are 
perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

24  but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the 
power of God and the wisdom of God.

25  For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness 
of God is stronger than man's strength.

26  Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you 
were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of 
noble birth.

27  But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God 
chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

28  He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and 
the things that are not--to nullify the things that are,

2:4  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, 
but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

5  so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

3:6  I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.

7  So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, 
who makes things grow.

8  The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each 
will be rewarded according to his own labor.

4:19  But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I 
will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what 
power they have.

20  For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

5:4  When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you 
in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,

6:14  By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us 
also.

15:24  Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the 
Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

2CO 6:7  in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of 
righteousness in the right hand and in the left;

9:8  And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things 
at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

12:9  But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is 
made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about 
my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

13:4  For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's 
power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God's power we will live with 
him to serve you.

GAL 2:8  For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to 
the Jews, was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles.

EPH 1:19  and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power 
is like the working of his mighty strength,

20  which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated 
him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,

21  far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title 
that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

22  And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head 
over everything for the church,

3:7  I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me 
through the working of his power.

16  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power 
through his Spirit in your inner being,

20  Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or 
imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

6:10  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

17  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the 
word of God.

PHI 3:21  who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his 
control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his 
glorious body.

4:13  I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

COL 1:11  being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might 
so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully

16  For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, 
visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; 
all things were created by him and for him.

17  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

2:12  having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through 
your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

15  And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public 
spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

1TH 1:5  because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also 
with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we 
lived among you for your sake.

2TH 1:9  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out 
from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power

1TI 6:16  who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom 
no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

2TI 1:7  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of 
power, of love and of self-discipline.

8  So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his 
prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of 
God,

12  That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I 
know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I 
have entrusted to him for that day.

4:17  But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through 
me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear 
it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth.

18  The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely 
to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

HEB 1:3  The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact 
representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. 
After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand 
of the Majesty in heaven.

2:14  Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their 
humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of 
death--that is, the devil--

18  Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help 
those who are being tempted.

6:5  who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the 
coming age,

7:25  Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through 
him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

1PE 1:5  who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of 
the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

3:18  For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the 
unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made 
alive by the Spirit,

22  who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels, 
authorities and powers in submission to him.

2PE 1:16  We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you 
about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were 
eyewitnesses of his majesty.

1JO 3:8  He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has 
been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to 
destroy the devil's work.

JUD 1:25  to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and 
authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and 
forevermore! Amen.

REV 4:11  "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and 
power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and 
have their being."

5:13  Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the 
earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on 
the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for 
ever and ever!"

11:17  saying: "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is 
and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to 
reign.
