Hoe the Row to the end No one in America, I don't suppose, wants the Lord to return any more than I do, and not many would limit the time we have left to just a few weeks or months at the most. Even though this is so, we have never been of that frame of mind to sell the house, poison the dog, quit the job and "wait." We intend to "occupy" until He comes, and be found about "the Master's business" when the Master gets here. I have already scheduled meetings in 1991 just in case He doesn't get here. Hudson, as you know, backed out of his April Fool's day with us, and Hymers is as good as shot since he got together with Bobby Jones III and tried to work out some arrangement for protecting the faculty at BJU. Hudson and Hymers quickly degenerated into nothing but just two more destructive Bible critics (the world has always been filled with them) who want people to think they believe a Book that they do NOT believe (and the Body of Christ is filled with those compromising humanists). We will not be advertising "Hymer's Open Bible Forum" here in 1991, as planned, because he doesn't know anymore about the Book than Hudson, or Hutson--or, for that matter, Hobbs or Horton, or Hindson or Hut Sut Rawson on the Rillara. But PBI will be opening Labor Day, 1990, if the Lord has not arrived. Anyone wanting a catalogue should write for one today. The tuition is $900 a year, and all ministerial students have a chance to learn Hebrew and Greek as well as Theology and Manuscript Evidence. First year students will be taking five hours of Bible a week, Basic Theology, first year Church History, first year Preparation and Delivery of Sermons, Evangelistic Songleading, The Preacher and His Problems, Old and New Testament Survey, and will learn how to win souls and preach on the street. Second and third year students will take five hours of Bible, study Advanced Theology, Problem Texts, second and third year Greek, Hebrew, Baptist Missions, Archaeology, second year Church History, and second and third year Preparation and Delivery of Sermons. Five hours out of a weekly schedule of about twelve hours is just the Bible, word by word, verse by verse. We will be open, Lord willing, whether we have a class of fifty or two hundred. If you want to come, write for information today. Lord willing, we will be doing what God called us to do whether He comes this week or next, this month or next, this year or next. The row will be hoed to the END. |
