N.A.S.V. Lines Up With Liberal R.S.V. by Ron Branson
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous
do?"
The N.A.S.V. has within its covers the same kind of heresies
that are found in the Jehovah's Witness "Bible" known by the name
"New World Translation", and also the corrupt Revised Standard
Version (R.S.V.), translated by the ecumenical, liberal National
Council of Churches. Despite this fact, the New American Standard
Version is being approved and endorsed by many deceived well
known fundamentalists today.
The N.A.S.V. presents Christ in much the same manner as does
the Jehovah's Witness "Bible." Understand that when you see the
notes in the N.A.S.V. saying, "Some mss. insert..." or, "Some
later mss. read..." it would be more honest of them in most cases
to say, "The vast majority of the Greek manuscripts include...,
but ours does not." To state the facts briefly, the N.A.S.V. is
built on a minority Greek text which was discarded as heretical
and unused by the early church fathers. It is true that their
Greek text does not include many fundamental portions found in
Greek texts underlying the K.J.V. Below are some Scriptural
comparisons of the K.J.V. showing the crucial words which both
the Jehovah's Witness & the N.A.S.V. leave out.
John 3:13--And now man hath ascended up to heaven, but he
that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in
heaven.
John 6:47--...verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on
me hath everlasting life.
1 Timothy 3:16--...God was manifest in the flesh...
1 John 4:3--And ever spirit that confesseth not that Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that
spirit of antichrist...
Revelation 1:11--Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and
the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book...
Notice that Christ is robbed of His deity and glory in the
above verses.
Both seem to have trouble with the virgin birth of Christ.
Luke 2:33--And Joseph and his mother marvelled...
Both seem to have trouble admitting Christ's sacrificial
death "for us".
Hebrews 1:3--...upholding all things by the word of his
power, when he had by himself purged our sins...
Both seem to have trouble with the blood of Christ as
follows:
Colossians 1:14--In whom we have redemption through his
blood, even the forgiveness of sins...
Both the liberal R.S.V. and the N.A.S.V. allow for the
teaching of the brotherhood of all mankind, exactly what the
liberals teach. Understand that the R.S.V. and the N.A.S.V. are
built upon the foundation of the Hort and Westcott Greek text.
Westcott, on pg. 22, Vol. No. 2, of 'The Life and Letters of
Brooke Foss Westcott'" says, "Christianity rests upon the central
fact that the Word became flesh. This fact establishes not only a
brotherhood of men, but also a brotherhood of nations." What
